High Impact Curriculum Development
I am very proud to have been a member of a team developing Florida Sunshines standard-aligned labs for publication and broad distribution through Orange County Public Schools, an urban school district of over twenty high schools. The work included the development of core and supporting lab documents, procedures, material lists, student worksheets, teacher instructions, and instructional videos. I participated in the project over two years, and presented the labs at several teacher-audience workshops throughout that time.

Student-Facing Website Optimization
While working as an academic success coach at the University of Central Florida, one of my ongoing projects is the redesign and optimization of select web pages on the College of Sciences Advising Services (COSAS) website. One of the challenges of this project is the abundance of information required on each page. Using the UCF style guide, Athena components (a library similar to Bootstrap), and a slow process of mockups, approvals and implementation, improvements in design and content clarity are made over time.
Multimedia Project (Mock Website Integrating Media Components)

As assigned in EME6507 - Multimedia for Education and Training Instructional Technology, I've created a mock website demonstrating the integration of media (audio, video, and animation) within a web environment. The project exhibits use of div-based templating, adaptation and creation of fresh HTML and CSS markup, the integration of Bootstrap library elements, and the addition of some basic javascript. The website is easily navigable and exhibits my design aesthetic, which is clean and minimalistic.

As assigned in EME6507 - Multimedia for Education and Training Instructional Technology, I've created a sample Powerpoint Presentation to demonstrate use of graphics, text, and narration in an instructional format. The presentation features a topic I've taught about for several years, molecular polarity, which many students find challenging. It features several images, some of which are self-made, others edited for clarity and attributed properly. This brief sample presentation demonstrates the ability to take a complex topic and explain it understandably.
Redox Remix, a bite-size Podcast by L. Cohen
Audio Project (Mock Instructional Podcast)
- Category: Graduate Coursework
- Organization: University of Central Florida (Student)
- Project date: Summer 2024
As assigned in EME6507 - Multimedia for Education and Training Instructional Technology, I've created a brief, snippet-length audio sample of a chemistry podcast I've imagined, which I've titled Redox Remix. Self-narrated and edited in the free software Audacity. The editing involved noise correction, background sound removal, volume adjustments, and fade-in/fade-out transitions. The music used is "Tasty Waves" by the artist National Sweetheart, sourced by the YouTube Audio Library under its open license.
